Improving your TDPs

Hello all,
First of all, we would like to say, that the competition in SCDC 2011 prelims was enormous. We really had a tough time deciding, which teams would qualify. The margin between the teams that have been selected, and others was really less. Here are a few notes to help you improve on your TDP and resend before 23:59, 10/9/2011.
Following were some of the common errors made:
  • In the 'Exer-Meter' module, the distance travelled and counting the number of pedals were compulsory. Only the speed detection part was optional.
  • In the 'Cycle Tracker' module, you have to compulsorily send atleast 4 bits of data/code for the identification.
  • In the 'Burglar Proofing' module, you need to think about burglar proofing the whole cycle as well as the the extra modules you have put. Now obviously some assumptions have to be made about the state of the cycle in the locked condition. Please ensure that the assumption is not way off reality.
  • For 'Module-X', you are allowed to have only ONE module. There were a lot of teams who have attempted multiple Module-X's. However they were neither penalised nor given extra credits. Remember, you can have as many interdependencies as you want, but only one Module-X.
